"Melbourne's newest & most exciting breaking
talent" Jiselle Hanna 'Accent Of Women'
When songwriter Carol Hasna first witnessed Sula playing
guitar, she was impressed with her skill. What captured Hasna's full
attention was when Sula down-tuned her guitar and played it like the
Arabic Ud. Sula then sang with a voice pure & angelic. Hasna was
lost for words.
Sula is a self-taught, multi-talented artist. She is singer/songwriter,
rhythm/lead guitarist, bassist, percussionist, engineer, & painter.
One of the highlights of Sula's career came early in 2004
when she accompanied the amazing Monica Weightman on Bongos & Arabic
drums at MOOMBA.
Sula joined Monica again at that year's Channel 31 Antenna
Awards, this time playing guitar on Monica's new single 'Lost Generation'.
Sula also accompanied Monica @ this years Brunswick Festival,
Pride March, and Black Harmony day.
When Sula played the Darebin Concert Hall last year, she
wowed the audience with her song 'LOVERS' [Chocolate & Cherries].
From that arose the opportunity to play guitar on, and record the Arabic
version [Omm el Hazina] of Joe Dolce's poem 'Sorrowful Mother'.
On her debut album 'Chocolate & Cherries', we journey through East
& West. Sula floats through Blues territory, Soul, Country, Pop,
Rock & jazz feels. On track 4 'She's A Monstar' Sula pays tribute
to the world's greatest female guitarist Monica Weightman
Playing guitar, singing & writing songs since the
age of ten, Sula's voice has been described as "Pure & Angelic".
With strong lyrics & Sula's musicianship, which expands beyond her
years making her one of the most highly sought-after musicians today,
this album is bound for great heights in the world of music.
