	Michel Bénébig The New Hammond Organ Guru Live In Melbourne New CD Release - February 2008 Michel Bénébig – New B3 Hammond Organ Adam Simmons –Alto/tenor/baritone Sax Vaughn Roberts – Trumpet Mike Jordan – Drums Recorded live at Scarlette, Melbourne, Australia on 11 February, 2007. Michel Bénébig is New Caledonia’s greatest jazz export, regularly performing in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, as well as the USA and a tour to Europe planned for 2008. “Live in Melbourne” was captured at the end of Michel’s last Australian tour, with two of Melbourne’s finest musicians, Mike Jordan and Adam Simmons, with New Zealand trumpeter, Vaughn Roberts as well. The tunes are all originals by Bénébig (except for one by Simmons), with inspiration drawn from his Pacific environment and his love of the Hammond organ and its tradition.	Michel Bénébig will be returning to Australia again later in 2008 with details yet to be confirmed. In the dozen or so years that I have known Michel Benebig, he has never sounded better than in this recording. His playing has reached out further than ever before with more assertion and drive. He builds his solos with dynamics that seem to be fueled by self-confidence and pride. In fact, chances are taken that might not have been taken years ago; throughout this, Michel works unselfishly with his band members to support them through the changes and propel them into their individual solo flights.
