Drew was raised in Taupo, New Zealand and recorded his first demos in Melbourne, 1985, with a little help from people like , Robbie Dillan (Colin Hay Band), Bill McDonald (Steve Cummins Band), Steve Williams (Jo Jo Zep) & James Reyne. Following on from his last Album "The Water's Edge" Drew has recorded 8 songs for his new CD "Live in the Lounge" . This album is a live acoustic guitar and vocal recording that was recorded at Donnelly's Crossing in Northland NZ New Years Day 2007. Drew says, "Playing my friend Robbie's, lovely 62 Gretsch Nashville, singing through a 58 Shure beta, so its sounding very organic, I've left all the little mistakes in there so wot it is, IS!! Some of the background noise is provided by some of the kids asking their mum for food in the kitchen, friends chatting on the porch, my 10 year old son playing the tambourine unaware I was recording."
