DAVE STEEL REVIEWS

Dave Steel - Blues And Ballads

Since leaving Weddings, Parties, Anything in 1988, singer / songwriter / guitarist Dave Steel has built a nationwide following with solo recordings that often highlight his narrative style and virtuoso musicianship. And so it is with album number eight that finds Dave in top form accompanying himself on acoustic and bottleneck guitars and mandolin with occasional bass and vocal backing from singer/songwriter Tiffany Eckhardt.

Dave's songs of love ('Tiff's Song'), parenthood ('Safe And Sound', 'Colour Of The Wind'), the death of a friend ('Goodbye Traveller') mix with interpretations of traditional blues by Mississippi John Hurt, Sleepy John Estes and Rev. Gary Davis.
