With another great mix of catchy choruses and barbed hooks journeyman and troubadour Dave Owens delivers another collection of original songs on his third CD called “WhatiswillbE”

Full of foot stomping rockers and a few more endearing ballads, Owens has again competently observed our current life and times.

“This time around I wanted to capture the mood of the people if that’s at all possible, as honestly as I could, and with songs like “Tension”, “Another Way” and “What Is Will Be” I think I got close”.

Using most of the guys from the “In My Shoes” sessions, and introducing Tim Neal on piano/organ, Owens has written, arranged, performed and produced nine new songs and recorded a version of the Johnny O’Keefe classic “Real Wild Child (Wild One)”, (which was co-written by his late father Dave Snr way back in 1957!)

IN MY SHOES Cat# SV0494 Click to purchase this product Click to view reviews of this product

Mixing rock 'n' roll riffs with heart-breaking ballads, 'In My Shoes' is the latest independent solo offering by Troubadours front man Dave Owens.

Dave, the son of American musician Dave Owens snr - who co-penned the JOK hit 'Wild One (Real Wild Child) - has played professionally since he was sixteen with such groups as Mad Gorilla, Dirty Pool and Jerry, James & The
Chocolate Factory. Following his debut solo release 'One Pair of Hands', Dave has composed, recorded and produced twelve new tracks including the thematic 'Richmond'.

"Generally I'm inspired musically by everyday life," says Dave. "The title track is a romantic fantasy about a famous, yet misunderstood, travelling balladeer. 'Richmond' came to me one afternoon while I was walking home from one of
the local pubs in Richmond. I used the 'Seventh St. New Years Eve Party Choir' to sing backing vocals on that track."

Artists performing with Dave on 'In My Shoes' include Roger McLachlan (bass guitar), Tony Attard (drums), Geoff Achison (guitar), Geoff Wright (guitar), Michael Den Elzen (guitar), Paul Willaimson and Lachlan Davidson (sax), Jim Symphonius (piano) Boris Conley (piano) Emma Sanguinetti, Paul Cooper and Warwick Thomas (backing vocals).

"One of the main differences with 'In My Shoes' is the musicians I used during recording," says Dave who previously played most of the instruments on 'One Pair of Hands', his first CD release. "This time I used one rhythm section
for all the bottom tracks, who co-incidently were the bassist and drummer from 'The Troubadours' my regular working band".

As a songwriter, Dave Owens has been described as creating guitar-driven high-energy tales of life, filled with the prosaic happenings about life's poetic moments.

And his influences, well they are many and varied . . . " There's my love of the blues, the great jazz masters, all the formative 60's 70's 80's stuff, The Beatles, Stones, y' know, I've pretty much been into music ever since I can remember ."
